THE NORVAL AGAR FAMILY
Norval Agar arrived in Provost from Mitchell, Ontario in 1908. He and Mr. Dodds operated the first drugstore, the present Thorp's Drug. Later he engaged in Real Estate, where he and Dr. York shared a building on Main
Street.
From 1930, he was a funeral director, having taken over fron Harry Gerrie, until his death, January 31,
1943.
February 7, 1912, Norval married Maud Briggs of Provost. There were four children. Elsie (Mrs. Clare Russell) of Caroline, Alberta; Edith (Mrs. Harold Harper) of Provost; Beverly, killed in action in the R.C.A.F. April 1943; Clarence of St. Albert, Alberta.
Mother and Dad were active in church work, mother was a member of the Methodist Church Ladie's Aid, and Dad was a member of the choir for many years.
Dad was past master of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the Provost band from its inception. He was an ardent sportsman, keenly interested in hunting, baseball and curling. He was also a member of the Provost Volunteer Fire Brigade.

Mother passed away October 24,  1931, at the age of forty five.

THE HENRY ANDERSON FAMILY
Mr. Henry Anderson and his wife Emma, were born in Norway, and raised in South Dakota. They immigrated to Canada in 1905, and homesteaded in the Wetaskiwin area. They moved to Provost with their family in 1918, where Mr. Anderson worked at his carpentry trade for some years, and then opened a Shoe and Harness Repair Shop. They left Provost in 1929.
The four youngest members of the Anderson family were born in Provost. They raised a family of seven girls and three boys, while one son died in infancy:
Daughter: Alma and Ehnour Buck, Duchess, Alberta retired fanner, with three sons and one daughter.
Daughter: Hilda and Clarence Larson, Seattle Washington, retired carpenter, with three daughters.
Son: Theodore (Andy) who left Provost in his late teens to go north, and has remained there all these years. He is well known as a prospector and adventurer in the Yukon today. Some people remember Andy when he worked in Larson's Hardware.
Daughter: Edna and Jim Tronnes of Bowden, Alberta. Jim was a prison guard at Bowden Institute. They have two sons and three daughters.
Son: Bill and Myrtle Anderson of Saskatoon, with one daughter, the now famous Joni Mitchell, folk singer, song wnter, and artist. She has won numerous international awards in recording and entertainment fields. Bill worked 'or L. J. Simpson and later O.K. Economy, and is still employed by the latter as merchandising manager for Saskatchewan. Daughter: Gladys and Orville Tronnes of Red Deer.

Orville was a creamery manager, now retired.    They raised three sons.
Daughter: Betty and Cec. Conarroe. Cec was a superintendent of roads and worked for the County of Vermilion River. They raised three sons.
Son: Gordon and Buelah Anderson of Edmonton. Gordon works for the Edmonton City Post Office. They also have three sons - seems to be a popular figure.
Daughter: Lynn and Earl Nundahl of Red Deer. Earl is a retired body shop man. They raised three sons.
Daughter: Bernice, the youngest who was widowed in February, 1972, had two boys and two girls. She remarried in December, 1974, to Orlando Cox. They now reside in Kitscoty. Orlando is a retired farmer and now is doing carpenter work. They own the Coin Laundry in Kitscoty.
